Two new mouse series to be released
In early September, ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President: Junji Hada) will release two new series of laser mouse: a 3-button wired mouse featuring a smart-looking rectangular shape, and a 5-button multi-function wireless mouse with high efficiency and beautiful design inspired by obsidian stones.
The RECT: M-GE1UL series is a 3-button wired mouse designed in a beautiful rectangular shape. The products in this series are simple and easy to use, featuring a smart-looking, easy-to-hold rectangular shape and only basic required functions.
Designed on ergonomic principles, the easy-to-hold medium-size mouse fits naturally in one's palm and allows the user to operate comfortably for a long time with less fatigue. The cable is located left of the mouse's center to offer freedom of use for right-handed users. Meanwhile, the tilted USB connector enables easy insertion and removal. In addition to simple design and function, this series emphasizes user comfort.
The OBSIDIAN: M-GE3DL series is a 5-button multi-function wireless laser mouse with high efficiency and beautiful design inspired by obsidian stones that create a powerful atmosphere. Obsidian stones, often used as knives in ancient times, have now been transformed into a tool with multiple functions and high efficiency. The mouse body is made compact (size: W51.0 x D77.0 x H32.0 mm) to ensure easy portability. Furthermore, the series incorporates an ultra thin type receiver, thinner than our micro receiver of equivalent size to a one-yen coin. So, the receiver can be neatly left connected in a flat state to the USB port of a laptop computer when carried, or can be stored instead on the mouse body. Designed on the concept of easy portability, the products also come with a convenient carrying pouch.
The series incorporates a wireless radio system operating in the 2.4 GHz band and DS-SS radio system, not affected by noise, to ensure accurate mouse operation within a wider radio wave range of approx. 10 m at maximum above non-magnetic materials and of approx. 3 m at maximum above magnetic materials such as a steel desk.
Both series incorporate a high-precision laser sensor, which is capable of achieving a higher recognition rate in low-contrast situations than that of an optical mouse. Accurately translating subtle movements of the mouse into the cursor movement, the series allows smooth mouse movement in various operational environments. To ensure safety, the integrated laser sensor conforms to the safety level for the Class 1 Invisible Beam standard.
Also, the series features a tilt scroll wheel function that lets you scroll horizontally on the screen simply by tilting the center wheel from side to side. This very useful function helps substantially improve operation efficiency when working on various web browsers and applications such as Excel. Furthermore, various functions can be allocated to each button as you wish.
