ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) will release in early February two new models of compact Bluetooth® keyboards with covers that allow them to be closed and stored when not in use. One model supports gaming devices while the other features an English keyboard layout optimal for the iPad and iPhone.

The gaming device optimized model “TK-GMFBP029BK” is a compact Bluetooth® keyboard ideal for chatting in online games. Typing can be done comfortably while holding the keyboard in your hands like a game controller. It can also be used with the PlayStation® 3, and Windows and Mac PCs compatible with the Bluetooth® HID Profile.

The iPad/iPhone compatible “TK-FBP029E Series” is a Bluetooth® keyboard that uses the English keyboard layout optimal for the iPhone 4, iPad, 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch and other devices. Compatible with Bluetooth® HID Profile, it can also be used with Mac PCs such as the iMac. The compact size allows it to fit into your pocket meaning you can take it along with your iPhone or iPod touch. The inside of the cover is treated to resist sliding, meaning you can rest your iPhone or iPod touch on it while you use the keyboard.* You can type smoothly holding the wireless keyboard in both hands making it perfect for when you are out and about.
*The iPhone/iPod touch is not fixed in place. Beware of it falling during use.

Both models of keyboard feature a cover for convenient storage. It can be stored neatly when not in use by closing the cover, and even when keeping it in your pocket the cover will prevent scratches and dustiness.

Registration of the device via Bluetooth® can be done simply pressing a button to perform pairing. The “Pantograph format” used by many PC notebooks is used as the key type so even with the light keytops your keystrokes will be nimble yet accurate. The keytops use a stylish and easy to read original font, maximizing visibility and preventing typos.
Both modles have a useable range of up to 10m on non-magnetic surfaces such as wooden desks and 3m on magnetic surfaces such as steel desks. Also, a convenient low battery light is built-in. Both models come in black. The “TK-FBP029E Series” has a lineup of 3 colors, with the addition of the ladies’ favorites pink and white.
