ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) will launch a new Bluetooth® wireless silicone keyboard at the beginning of February, featuring a layout perfect for using with Apple devices such as the iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. When storing away, this keyboard can be rolled up and fastened with a band, making it very compact and providing great portability.
The “TK-FBS035E Series” is a compact, wireless keyboard that supports the latest “Bluetooth®3.0” standard. It is made of soft silicone material so it can be stored away easily by rolling it up and fastening it with the supplied band. The long keyboard can be rolled up into a compact shape and it is very lightweight; perfect for carrying around while on the move or when traveling.
This keyboard has an English layout with 88 keys, perfect for using with Apple devices such as the iPad 2/iPad, iPhone 4S/4, and 4th Generation iPod Touch (*1). It can also be used with non-Apple devices without the need of a receiver, as long as they are PCs or smartphones that support the Bluetooth® HID profile (*2).
To use the keyboard, simply turn it on by pressing the power switch on the left hand side, and press the “CONNECT” button to establish a pairing. It can be used on non-magnetic surfaces, such as wooden desks, at distances of up to approximately 10m; and even on magnetic surfaces, such as steel desks, up to approximately 3m.
It works with just 2 batteries, which are easy to replace as they can be easily purchased anywhere, even if they run out while you are out on the move. It also has a “power switch” that allows you to save on battery consumption when not in use.
This keyboard is made with soft “silicone keypads”, which allows you to type comfortably with soft key presses. It is available in 4 colors: standard black and white, purple with a subset of green colored keys which provides great contrast, as well as vivid red.
