YouTube video search feature added to the Android application

ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) has released to the Android Market an updated version of its music player application "MERRY GO SOUND" that now has YouTube video search capabilities. The application is a multi-functional music player that links to Facebook and Twitter, and features Elecom's original "Go-Round Menu" UI.
"MERRY GO SOUND" music player features the original "Go-Round Menu" user interface, making operation and navigation a breeze. It can connect to Twitter and Facebook, letting you pull information on artists from Wikipedia and post to bring excitement to SNS sites. This lets you get a taste of something more than just "listening" to your music.
In order to enjoy "MERRY GO SOUND" even more, a feature has been added that enables you to perform YouTube video searches to easily browse videos of your favorite songs and artists. Whenever you want to playback the video of a song or an artist, a list of video search results from YouTube can be displayed with a simple operation. There is no need to enter any keywords, which lets you immediately listen to songs and see videos.
As a music player, there are also plenty of basic functions. You can display images of the album jacket and create equalizer compilations*, plus there are an abundance of playlist capabilities. Playlists can not only be arranged by artist and album, but also by composer, year of release, and BPM (Beats Per Minute). For BPM*, you can arrange songs and play them back by their tempo.
There are also widgets for jacket images, playback control, a lock screen for immediately after your smartphone recovers from sleep mode, and the ability to compile your music by information such as song or artist name, album name, or year of release.
*Requires Android OS 2.3 and later.
You can download and use the free version of "MERRY GO SOUND" from the Android Market. The free version displays advertisements, but by purchasing a license key separately, you can eliminate advertisements completely. The software is available at a discount for a limited time.
