Two series of Dock speakers for the iPhone go on sale

Starting at the end of April, ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) will release two new series of compact speakers, in sequence, that are equipped with a Dock connector and can be connected to an iPhone or iPod touch. Whether at home or on the go, you can easily enjoy your music no matter where you are.
These two series of new speaker systems are equipped with a Dock connector, and let you enjoy powerful sound in a compact size.
The ASP-IPD100 series can be powered with four AAA dry cell batteries, and the ASP-IPD200 series can be used without batteries or even an AC adapter. Neither type requires troublesome wires, making music playback possible by simply connecting them to the iPhone's Dock connector, and letting you easily enjoy music no matter where you are.
The ASP-IPD100 series has a compact box-shaped design, measuring W80×L88×H25mm. They can be easily stowed away in a bag - making them convenient to take with you whether you're going on a small outing or a trip. In addition to using the included AC adapter, you can also power the speakers using four AAA dry cell batteries. This lets you use the speakers while away from home and greatly expands the places in which you can enjoy music from speakers with your iPhone. The series is equipped with two 18mm-diameter full reflex speakers and provides a maximum power of 2W (1W + 1W). This gives a well balanced, wide ranging stereo sound from highs to lows.
The ASP-IPD200 series, with its smoothly rounded design, could be an interior accent. There's no need to use batteries or connect an AC adapter, so you can enjoy music playback just by connecting your iPhone to the Dock connector. Plus the fact you can connect your iPhone with a genuine bumper or case attached makes it even easier to listen to music. By using a separately-sold AC adapter, you can charge your iPhone and listen to music at the same time. There's also an adjuster that lets you easily change the depth by using a coin, which helps keep your iPhone stable and prevents wobbling. And thanks to an optimized acoustical design and highly efficient digital amp, you can enjoy powerful sound in a compact size without needing electricity.
Both series are equipped with a USB port (USB-miniB). By using the included USB cable to connect to a PC, you can charge your iPhone and transfer music from iTunes (*). They also include an on/off power switch and volume control. The ASP-IPD100 series comes in four colors, and the ASP-IPD200 series comes in two, so you can choose the color you like from this new lineup.
