In the middle of June, ELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan; President: Junji Hada) will release four new series of “one-shot connection” web cameras that can be used immediately by simply connecting to a USB 2.0 port on your computer. There are two types that come with either a 1.3MP or 2MP camera and have a built-in microphone, so they can be used with your speakers to enjoy video chatting with multiple people without having to worry about wearing a microphone.

Both types of cameras are “one-shot connection” types, meaning that they meet USB 2.0 UVC standards and can be used by simply plugging into a PC’s USB port – no need to install proprietary drivers. Both units are equipped with an internal microphone, so when paired up with your computer speakers, you can video chat without needing to wear a microphone. These models are optimal for chatting with multiple people in front of the camera at the same time. Each type also has the option to include an earphone/microphone, so you can choose whichever type that fits your needs. Using the earphone/microphone maintains a certain level of privacy when chatting with someone, because their voice cannot be heard by those around you. Surrounding noise will also not become bothersome, so you can focus on your conversation and enjoy talking with your loved ones or friends as much as you like.

The UCAM-C0113FB and UCAM-C0113FE series are equipped with a 1.3 megapixel 1/6 inch CMOS sensor that easily reproduces beautiful video. The UCAM-C0220FB and UCAM-C0220FE series offer a high quality, 2 megapixel 1/5 inch CMOS sensor that delivers magnificent video reproduction from corner to corner. Both series are not only supported on the Windows platform, but Mac OS X (10.6 - 10.6.8, 10.7 - 10.7.3) and PlayStation®3 as well – all without special drivers. They also feature a convenient multi-stand, so the camera can be setup on top of a laptop or LCD display, or set horizontally on a desktop. They also use a ball-joint so you can point the camera at any angle or in any direction you like.

You can also download the exclusive “WebCam Assistant” for free from our web site. This software allows you to post images and videos you have taken to sharing sites like YouTube, as well as easily edit those videos using many of its convenient features. With WebCam Assistant, you’ll be able to do and enjoy more and more with your Web camera.
