Precautions

This manual describes the important precautions you should take for safe operation of this product.
Observe these precautions carefully to avoid personal injury, damage, fire, and other problems.

WARNING

If a foreign object (water, metal chips) enters this product, stop using immediately and turn OFF the power. Disconnect the USB cable from the USB AC adaptor, USB power supply, or computer as well.
Continuing to use the product as it is may cause a fire or an electric shock.

If abnormalities such as overheating, emitting smoke, or emitting strange odors occur, stop using the product immediately. To prevent burns, first ensure that the device is not overheating, then turn OFF the power and do not use the device any longer. Disconnect the USB cable from the USB AC adaptor, USB power supply, or computer as well. Afterwards, please contact your dealer.
Continuing to use the product as it is may cause a fire or an electric shock.

Please do not drop or hit this product.
In the event that the product is damaged, cease usage immediately and turn OFF the power. Disconnect the USB cable from the USB AC adaptor, USB power supply, or computer as well. Cease usage after that and consult your retailer.

Fires or electric shocks may occur if this product is used when damaged.

Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair this product.
Doing so may cause a fire, electric shock, or product damage.
Such malfunctions are not covered under warranty.

If any liquid gets inside the product, it may cause malfunction, fire, or electric shock.

Never use this product in places where a high level of safety is required. Doing so may cause errors in the operation of instruments in special medical institutions or aircrafts.

CAUTION

Do not leave the product exposed to high temperatures.
This product is a sensitive electronic device. Avoid using or storing in places with high temperature, high humidity, or long-term direct sunlight or leaving in hot cars for extended periods. In addition, rapid changes in the surrounding temperature may lead to malfunction caused by internal condensation.

Do not use or store this product in any of the following environments:

  • In a car exposed to sunlight or a place exposed to direct sunlight.
  • In a place that becomes hot, such as around a heater.
  • In a moist place or a place where condensation may occur.
  • In an uneven place or a place exposed to vibration.
  • In a place where a magnetic field is generated (such as near a magnet.)
  • In a place where static electricity is generated.
  • In a dusty place.

If the product becomes wet, please wipe it dry with a dry cloth as soon as possible.
The product may become discolored, mold may grow, or the color may run if the water is not wiped off.

Please be careful of excessive volume.
Please be cautious of excessive volume when connecting etc., to prevent damage to your ears due to the sudden loud noise.

Cleaning the Product

If this product becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.

Using a volatile liquid such as paint thinner, benzene or alcohol can affect the material quality and/or discolor this product.

Please take caution regarding the following for disinfection.

Gently soak a cleaning cloth, such as a microfiber cloth, in the disinfectant solution. Ensure there are no loose droplets and gently wipe the product using the cloth.
After wiping, dry thoroughly and wipe off any residual liquid.

Do not use organic solvents or expose the product to ultraviolet light.
Using these can cause damage to the exterior such as the deterioration of the housing components or paints.

We recommend using disposable gloves.

When using any alcohol-based products, please check its associated precautions and that it is appropriate for the specific purpose.

Please note that the customer is fully responsible for repair costs in the event that the product is damaged or operates abnormally due to the disinfection process.

It is recommended that you sanitize your hands before and after using PCs and peripherals that are used by multiple people to prevent the spread of infection through the equipment.

Regarding disposal

Follow the guidance of the local municipal government when disposing of this product. Enquire about the regulations with your local government.

Precautions regarding radio waves

The band of frequencies used by this product are used to operate local wireless base stations (wireless stations that require a license) and designated low-power wireless stations (wireless stations that do not require a license) for the detection of moving objects on factory production lines in addition to microwave ovens, kitchenware and other industrial/scientific/medical devices.

  1. Before using this product, make sure that there are no local wireless base stations and designated low-power wireless stations for the detection of moving objects being operated in the vicinity.
  2. If this product has created radio wave interference for a local wireless base station for moving object detection, quickly change the frequency that is used or stop radio wave emission and then contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product or the support desk indicated under the provided support information for information on how to avoid interference (such as installing a partition).
  3. In the case of any issues, such as if this product creates radio wave interference to a local wireless base station for moving object detection, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased this product or the support desk indicated under the provided support information.

How to use

Items included in this package

The following items are included in this package. Verify the package to ensure all items are accounted for prior to using this product. While every effort has been made to ensure proper packaging, in the event that any shortage or damage is discovered, please contact the retailer where the product was purchased.

Name and function of each part

Speaker

Outputs audio or music.
is the left channel. is the right channel.

After purchasing, there will be a sheet affixed to the surface of the product to prevent dirtying of the silicone portion.
Please peel it off before use.

USB cable USB Type-C® plug

  • Supplies power to the product when connected to a computer or USB AC adaptor.
  • Sends audio to a speaker while in USB cable mode.

AUX jack

Connects to the ⌀3.5mm audio output jack of a computer or similar device using the included ⌀3.5mm mini plug cable.

Headphone connection jack

Connects to the ⌀3.5mm mini plug of your headphones or ear buds.
Audio will stop playing from the speaker once you connect in this way.

Controller

Power the product ON/OFF, switch modes, or adjust the volume.

LED light

Displays power ON/OFF, pairing status, Bluetooth mode, USB cable mode and AUX mode.

Power button

  • Hold down the power button for 2 seconds to power the product ON.
  • Hold down the power button for 4 seconds while the product is in operation to power the product OFF.
  • Hold down the power button for 2 seconds while the product is in operation to change the connection mode.

Volume button (+)

Increases the volume.

Volume button (-)

Decreases the volume.

USB-A adaptor

The product can be used while connected to a USB-A port by inserting into the USB Type-C connector of the USB cable.

Playback in USB cable mode

1) Connect the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into your computer's USB Type-C port.

If your computer does not have a USB Type-C port, you can use the included USB-A adaptor to connect to the USB-A port instead.

2) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds to power the product ON.

The LED light will slowly blink red (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

3) Playback the audio source with the connected device.

The volume adjustment of this product is not synchronized with the connected device. Adjust the volume of the connected device as well.

Change your computer settings

Please confirm whether this product is configured to be your computer speaker. If this product is not selected, please change it to be this product.

1) Click “Start” and then “All”.

2) Click “Windows Tools”.

The “Windows Tools” screen will appear.

3) Double-click “Control Panel”.

4) Click “Hardware and Sound”.

5) Click “Sound”.

6) If is shown under “Speakers USBAudio2.0” in the “Playback” tab, then this product is currently selected.

If there is no icon, click “Speakers USBAudio2.0”, then click “Set Default”.

7) Click “Speakers USBAudio2.0” then click “Properties”.

8) Click on the “Levels” tab; if the volume level is not set to 0, sound will play from this product.

If the volume level is set to 0, please adjust the volume level.

9) Click “OK” then close “Properties”.

10) Click “OK” then close “Sound”.

Your computer settings are now complete.

Playback in AUX mode

1) Connect the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into your computer's USB Type-C port or into your USB AC adaptor.

・ If connecting to your computer's USB Type-C port

If your computer does not have a USB Type-C port, you can use the included USB-A adaptor to connect to the USB-A port instead.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

2) Insert the head of the included ⌀3.5mm mini plug cable into the AUX jack of this product.

3) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds to power the product ON.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

Activates in Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “Pairing”.

・ If connected to your computer's USB Type-C port

Activates in USB cable mode. There will be blinking (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

4) Insert the plug on the opposite end of the included ⌀3.5mm mini plug cable into the ⌀3.5mm audio output jack on your computer.

Automatically switches to AUX mode. The LED light will slowly blink green (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “AUX”.

5) Playback the audio source with the connected device.

The volume adjustment of this product is not synchronized with the connected device. Adjust the volume of the connected device as well.

Change your computer settings

8) Click on the “Levels” tab; if the volume level is not set to 0, sound will play from this product.

If the volume level is set to 0, please adjust the volume level.

9) Click “OK” then close “Properties”.

10) Click “OK” then close “Sound”.

Your computer settings are now complete.

Playback in Bluetooth mode

Windows®

1. Enable the pairing mode

Pairing involves registering Bluetooth devices (in this case, this product and your device) with each other, and authorizing a connection between them.

1) Connect the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into your computer's USB Type-C port or into your USB AC adaptor.

・ If connecting to your computer's USB Type-C port

If your computer does not have a USB Type-C port, you can use the included USB-A adaptor to connect to the USB-A port instead.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

2) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds to power the product ON.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

Activates in Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “Pairing”. Please proceed to step 4).

・ If connected to your computer's USB Type-C port

Activates in USB cable mode. There will be blinking (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

3) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds.

It will switch to Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Mode Change”, followed by “Pairing”.

4) Enter Bluetooth pairing mode.

 

If a connected device that has already been paired is in the vicinity

If the automatic connection function or the trusted devices setting of a connected device is enabled, it will connect to that device automatically.
The LED light will blink blue slowly (once every 3 seconds).

The voice guidance will announce “Bluetooth Connected”.

  • If connected with a device unintentionally, turn off the device and start over.
  • Pairing should finish within 5 minutes. If it takes more than 5 minutes, this product will power OFF. In this case, please start over.
  • Depending on the device you want to pair with, you may need to “Allow communication from SP-P10CUB” on the device in advance.

2. Pairing with a PC

  • This section covers Windows standard Bluetooth functions. Depending on your device or Bluetooth adaptor, unique Bluetooth functions may be used. Please read the respective manuals for each function.
  • The following instructions are for Windows 11 (23H2). Depending on the version and manufacturer, the displayed contents and screen design may differ.

1) Right click on “Start” on the bottom of the screen and select “Settings”.

The “Settings” page will appear.

2) Under “Home”, select “Add device” under “Bluetooth devices”.

The “Add a device” page will appear.

If “Bluetooth” is off, turn it on.

3) Select “Bluetooth”.

4) Once the “Add a device” screen is displayed, click “SP-P10CUB”.

Pairing begins.

5) “Your device is ready to go!”will be displayed.

6) Once the LED light of this product lights up a constant blue, pairing is complete.

The voice guidance will announce “Bluetooth connected”.

7) Click on “Done”.

8) This product will be added to “Bluetooth devices” and connection is complete.

You can now use this product.

  • Pairing information can be saved for up to 8 devices. If you register a ninth device, the oldest pairing will be deleted. To reconnect to a device that has been deleted, you need to pair it again.
  • If pairing is incomplete due to the settings of the device to be paired, turn off the power and try again.
  • Enter “0000” (four zeros) when prompted to enter a passkey.
  • Depending on the application you are using, you may need to configure the audio device in the application.
  • Depending on the device, you may need to manually perform the “Connect” operation to the device after pairing. Read the instruction manual of your device and manually perform the “Connect” operation.
  • Depending on the device, it may be necessary to change the audio output source. Please refer to the user's manual of the connected device before use.

Change your computer settings

8) Click on the “Levels” tab; if the volume level is not set to 0, sound will play from this product.

If the volume level is set to 0, please adjust the volume level.

9) Click “OK” then close “Properties”.

10) Click “OK” then close “Sound”.

Your computer settings are now complete.

iPhone, iPad

1. Enable the pairing mode

Pairing involves registering Bluetooth devices (in this case, this product and an iPad or an iPhone) with each other, and authorizing a connection between them.

1) Connect the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into your computer's USB Type-C port or into your USB AC adaptor.

・ If connecting to your computer's USB Type-C port

If your computer does not have a USB Type-C port, you can use the included USB-A adaptor to connect to the USB-A port instead.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

2) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds to power the product ON.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

Activates in Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “Pairing”. Please proceed to step 4).

・ If connected to your computer's USB Type-C port

Activates in USB cable mode. There will be blinking (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

3) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds.

It will switch to Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Mode Change”, followed by “Pairing”.

4) Enter Bluetooth pairing mode.

 

If a connected device that has already been paired is in the vicinity

1) Select “Settings” from the home page.

2) Tap on “Bluetooth”.

3) Turn “Bluetooth” ON.

4) Tap on “SP-P10CUB” when it is detected under “DEVICES”.

Pairing begins.

5) "Connected" will be displayed.

6) Once the LED light of this product lights up a constant blue, pairing is complete.

The voice guidance will announce “Bluetooth connected”.

You can now use this product.

  • Pairing information can be saved for up to 8 devices. If you register a ninth device, the oldest pairing will be deleted. To reconnect to a device that has been deleted, you need to pair it again.
  • If pairing is incomplete due to the settings of the device to be paired, turn off the power and try again.
  • Enter “0000” (four zeros) when prompted to enter a passkey.
  • Depending on the application you are using, you may need to configure the audio device in the application.
  • Depending on the device, you may need to manually perform the “Connect” operation to the device after pairing. Read the instruction manual of your device and manually perform the “Connect” operation.

Android

1. Enable the pairing mode

2) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds to power the product ON.

・ If connecting to a USB AC adaptor

Activates in Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “Pairing”. Please proceed to step 4).

・ If connected to your computer's USB Type-C port

Activates in USB cable mode. There will be blinking (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

3) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds.

It will switch to Bluetooth mode. The LED light will slowly blink blue (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Mode Change”, followed by “Pairing”.

4) Enter Bluetooth pairing mode.

Instructions for Pixel 6a (Android 14) are as follows. Depending on the version and manufacturer, the displayed contents and screen design may differ.

1) Swipe from the bottom to the top of the screen on the home screen to bring up the list of applications.

2) Tap on “Settings”.

3) Select “Connected devices”.

4) Tap on “Connection preferences”.

5) Tap on “Bluetooth”.

6) Turn “Use Bluetooth” ON.

7) Select “Pair new device”

8) Tap on “SP-P10CUB” when it is detected under “Available devices”.

9) While “Also allow access to contacts and call history” is set to OFF, tap “Pair”.

Pairing begins.

10) Once the LED light of this product lights up a constant blue, pairing is complete.

The voice guidance will announce “Bluetooth connected”.

11) This product is now added to “Media devices”.

You can now use this product.

  • Pairing information can be saved for up to 8 devices. If you register a ninth device, the oldest pairing will be deleted. To reconnect to a device that has been deleted, you need to pair it again.

Basic operations

Turning the product ON

1) Hold down the power button of the controller for 2 seconds.

Activates in USB cable mode. The LED light will slowly blink red (once every 3 seconds), then the voice guidance will announce “Power On”, followed by “USB Cable”.

Turning the product OFF

1) Hold down the power button of the controller for at least 4 seconds.

2) The light will turn OFF and the power supply will be turned OFF as well.

The voice guidance will announce “Power OFF”.

Even after turning the power OFF, the previous connection mode will be remembered until the USB cable is unplugged from your computer.
Unplugging and plugging in the USB cable will cause it to reset to USB cable mode.

Changing connection mode

1) Hold down the power button of the controller for at least 2 seconds while the power is ON.

2) The connection mode will change every time you hold down the power button for at least 2 seconds.

Please change to Aux mode after connecting the ⌀3.5 mm mini plug cable.

  • Even after turning the power OFF, the previous connection mode will be remembered until the USB cable is unplugged from your computer or your computer is powered OFF.
    Unplugging and plugging in the USB cable will cause the connection mode to be reset.
  • Turning the product ON after plugging the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into your computer will cause it to activate in USB cable mode.
  • Turning the product ON after plugging the USB Type-C plug of the USB cable that comes with this product into a USB AC adaptor will cause it to activate in Bluetooth mode.
  • To set to AUX mode, change the mode after connecting the ⌀3.5 mm mini plug cable.

Listening to music

The following operations are available while playing music.

  • Depending on the application, some features may not be available.

Play/Pause

Press the power button of the controller.

Adjusting the volume

Volume can be adjusted during audio or music playback.

This functionality may not be available depending on the connected device.
If you cannot obtain the desired volume even by setting the volume to maximum, adjust the volume of the connected device.

Volume up

The volume will increase each time you press the controller's Volume Up button (+).

Volume down

The volume will decrease each time you press the controller's Volume Down button (-).

Troubleshooting

If the speakers do not work correctly

Please check the status of the speaker.

  • The product cannot be turned ON.
    Check that the USB cable is connected to your computer.
    Check that the computer is turned ON.

Check the status of the connected device.

  • Please restart the connected device.
    This product may become unstable depending on the condition of the connected device. Please restart the connected device.
    Afterwards, follow these steps once more.
  • Update the OS and Bluetooth driver on the connected device to the latest versions.
    If the OS or Bluetooth driver version of the connected device is outdated, this product may become unstable. Please update to the latest version.
  • Check that the speaker output is properly configured in the Settings screen.
    When selecting a speaker output source, the display name may differ depending on the connection method.

  • When using Bluetooth mode, check the Bluetooth connection.
    • Check that this product’s and the connected device's Bluetooth function are turned on.
    • Check pairing status to ensure that this product is paired correctly with the connected device and that pairing has not been cancelled.
    • Check that the connected device supports the profile for this product.
  • When using a USB Bluetooth adaptor, check the adaptor's connection.
    Depending on the specifications of the PC's USB port or USB hub, other USB 3.0 devices used simultaneously with this product may generate noise that can worsen the 2.4 GHz signal in the vicinity.
    Examples of USB devices that may degrade the 2.4 GHz band signal
    • USB memory
    • Hard disk or SSD
    • Optical disk drive
    • Card reader/writer
    • LAN adaptor
    • Others, all devices communicating data with a PC via USB 3.0.

You may be able to improve the situation with the following method.

Connect the Bluetooth adaptor to another USB port away from other USB3.0 devices that are in use simultaneously.

Connect the Bluetooth adaptor to a USB 2.0 hub or to an extension cable.

Check the placement status of the speaker and the connected device and environment they are used in.

  • Check the distance between this product and the connected device (or USB Bluetooth adaptor).

    This wireless device uses the 2.4 GHz band. Please use this product within range of the connected device.

    *These values were obtained in ELECOM's test environment and are not guaranteed. The 2.4 GHz band signal may be shorter depending on the environment you use it in.

    When Bluetooth communication disconnects easily
    This product is not guaranteed to work with all Bluetooth devices. In addition, Bluetooth communication may be interrupted in the following environments.

    • There is a human body between this product and the connected device.
    • There is an obstacle such as a metal item or a wall between this product and the connected device.
    • There are many Bluetooth devices connected in the vicinity.
    • The product is used near wireless LAN (IEEE802.11g/b/n) devices that use the 2.4GHz band or a microwave oven in use
    • It is near an environment where USB 3.0 cables are being used, such as for external HDD.

    In these environments, please move this product and the connected device closer to each other and as far away from these environments as possible, and check if they can be paired or connected.

  • Check that there are no obstructions such as steel desks or other metal obstructions.
    Metal surfaces such as steel desks, or metal obstructions may reduce the range of the radio waves.
  • Check that multiple wireless devices are not being used at the same time.
    Radio wave interference may occur if multiple units of this product are used or if this product is used at the same time with other wireless devices. Change the channel of the other wireless device.

When using Windows® PC

Please check the Windows® power saving settings on the connectivity device.

In Windows®, in order to reduce power consumption depending on the PC, the power of the product to be connected to the USB is set to turn off automatically.
You can change this setting in the following ways:

■ For Windows® 11

1) Click “Start” and then “All”.

2) Click “Windows Tools”.

The “Windows Tools” screen will appear.

3) Double-click ”Control Panel”.

4) Click “System and Security”.

5) Click “Power Options”.

For Power Options settings, please refer to step 2 and beyond when using “For Windows® 10”.

■ For Windows® 10

1) Right-click the Start button at the bottom left of the screen, click “Power Options”, and then click “Additional power settings” under “Related settings” on the right side of the “Power & sleep” screen.

2) Click “Change plan settings” on the right side of the item selected in “Power Plan”.

3) On the “Edit Plan Settings” screen, click “Change advanced power settings”.

4) On the “Power Options” screen, click the “+” mark in “USB settings” from the list, and then click the “+” mark in “USB selective suspend setting”.

The items displayed in the list on the “Power Options” screen may differ depending on the computer you are using. If “USB selective suspend setting” is not displayed, the setting cannot be changed.

5) In the dropdown next to “Setting”, select “Disabled”.

If you are using a laptop, there are two items instead of “Settings”: “On battery” and “Plugged in”. In that case, please set the “Plugged in” setting to “Disabled”.

6) Click “OK” to confirm the settings.

7) Click the “×” (close) in the upper right corner to close “Edit Plan Settings”.
